Golf Day Earns Charity $31,000

THE Leukaemia Foundation's Nina Field tells me the recent Thurlings Financial Services golf day raised more than $31,000 for leukaemia support services and research.

The golf day, held at the Grange Golf Club, raised $21,000 and the AMP Foundation honoured its commitment to match that dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000, through its Community Fundraising Program.

The whole event was personally rewarding for Greg Thurling, who had wanted to do something like it ever since he was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2001 and met so many people and families affected by the disease.

Greg said it was really refreshing to see the fantastic response from the business community and the tireless work of Nina and her colleagues.
